  • CUSTOMER: HOTEL CHAIN, Whistler, BC
  • APPLICATION DATE: November 2003
  • PROBLEM: Floor area of this hotel Health Club had been tiled with 2x2inch mosaic type tiles. These proved to be very slippery when wet. As remedial action hotel had placed non-slip floor mats over all the access areas. Whilst this was successful it was aesthetically untidy and posed a constant cleaning and odor problem.

  • CUSTOMER: Recreation Centre, City of Langley, BC
  • APPLICATION DATE: September 2004
  • PROBLEM: The finishing face plates of the pool lights stood proud of the tiles by almost ¾ inch when fitted. These would get damaged by the moveable gantry used to set the pool length when it was moved, as the clearances were too tight. Once the gantry jammed against the face plate, it would take a number of hours to dislodge it from this position.

  • BELZONA FACTS: Using Belzona allowed the pool personnel to replace the original face plates with a lower profiled stainless steel ring which provided a half inch of extra clearance on either side. An additional bonus was that all holes used for securing the original ring were sealed ensuring that there was no possibility of pool water leaking into the light fixture from the pool side.

  • PROBLEM: The swimming pool was loosing water at an alarming rate. An inspection revealed that the expansion seal joints around the perimeter of the pool had failed.

  • PROBLEM: The original metal frame had corroded over the years leaving the windows in an unsightly condition and leaking badly.

  • PROBLEM: The cast mild steel filter pots had corroded through in various places.

Pump efficiency has also been dramatically improved – with a greater volume pumped and reduced electrical demand.
